Let’s just hope the US doesn’t need to fight a major war anytime soon. Right now, the US military is shrinking because so few young people are being recruited. Interest in military service has dropped dramatically, and meanwhile the percentage of our young adults who actually qualify to serve has fallen to depressing levels. According to a recent Pentagon study, 77 percent of all Americans between the ages of 17 and 24 are not eligible to serve in the military for one reason or another. That’s a pathetically low number, and it’s the main reason we need other countries to fight our wars for us at this point. Look at Ukraine. We provide the funding, the equipment, the ammunition and the intelligence, but they provide the hot bodies. If this changes and our young people are forced to fight in a major conflict, they will quickly discover that a real war has nothing to do with Call of Duty Or Fortnite.
In the last fiscal year, the U.S. military missed its recruiting target 25 percent…
How bad is the recruiting crisis? During the last fiscal year, the Army missed its recruiting target by 15,000 active duty soldiers, or 25% of its target. This shortfall has forced the Army to reduce its planned strength at the end of active service from 476,000 to 466,000. And the current fiscal year is likely to be even worse. Army officials predict that the final active strength could decrease as 20,000 soldiers by September, until 445,000. This means that the country’s main land force could shrink by 7% in just two years – at a time when its missions are increasing in Europe and even in the Pacific, where the army provides many of the theater critical enablers in wartime without which other services cannot function.
The US military was once the most formidable military machine on the planet.
But now it is getting smaller and smaller.
It turns out that school closures during the pandemic had a huge impact on military recruiting, as test scores fell like a rock…
Levels of depression, anxiety and other mental health issues have soared among young Americans (and a lot not so young Americans), facing sometimes extreme levels of social isolation. School closures and distance learning have caused test results to decrease dramatically Across the country (and the world), and scores on ASVAB, the Army’s standardized test for potential recruits, declined by as much as 9 percent.
Of course, low test scores aren’t the main reason so many young Americans fail to qualify for military service.
Unfortunately, obesity is actually the number one reason…
A Pentagon study found that 77% of young Americans are ineligible for military service without a waiver due to being overweight, drug use, or mental or physical issues.
“When considering youth disqualified for just one reason, the most prevalent disqualification rates are overweight (11%), drug and alcohol abuse (8%), and medical/physical health (7 %),” the Pentagon 2020 Qualified Military Available said. Study of Americans aged 17 to 24 read.
It has not always been so.
There was a time when young Americans were the fittest on the planet. If you doubt it, just check that video from the 60s…
But now everything has changed.
In fact, obesity has now become a major problem for those who are already serving in the army…
New research has found that obesity in the US military has increased during the pandemic. In the military alone, nearly 10,000 active duty soldiers developed obesity between February 2019 and June 2021, bringing the rate to almost a quarter of the soldiers studied. Increases were also seen in the US Navy and Marines.
Unfortunately, to some extent our military has to take what they can get, because at this point the vast majority of the population just isn’t interested in military service…
But I can’t blame young people for not wanting to serve, because our military has become a politically correct lunatic asylum in recent years.
Instead of preparing for the wars of the future, our military is much more interested in ensuring that everyone uses the “right” pronouns…
There will come a time when the US military will have to actually fight, and when that day comes, we will be in so much trouble.
And that day could come much sooner than many people think.
If a major war breaks out in the Middle East, the United States will be involved. On Sunday, the IDF blocked pro-Iranian targets in Syria once again…
Israeli warplanes launched a new attack on Syria early on Sunday, striking a number of targets in the central Syrian city of Homs from Lebanese airspace, Syrian media SANA reported.
The strikes injured five Syrian Arab Army (SAA) soldiers and caused material damage. “Around 00:35 a.m. on Sunday, the Israeli enemy carried out an act of aerial aggression from the northeast direction of Beirut, targeting certain sites in the city of Homs and its countryside… Our air defenses intercepted the missiles and shot some of them. and the aggression caused the injury of five members of the army and material damage,” said a Syrian military source quoted by SANA.
We also continue to move closer to a fire war with Russia. In fact, NATO just conducted very extensive war games a few kilometers from the Ukrainian border…
The United States and its NATO partners lead military exercises in a region of Romania that borders Ukraine. Thousands of soldiers will gather to simulate an invasion pushing back the Black Sea coastline.
Nicknamed “Marine Shield 23the war games started on March 20 and will continue until April 2. The United States and 11 other NATO countries are taking part in the military exercises led by Romania. Nearly 3,500 soldiers, 30 warships, 14 aircraft and 15 other “rapid intervention” boats participate in the live fire operations, which will take place in the Black Sea and the Danube Delta in Romania. Troops participating in Sea Shield exercises will come less than 20 miles from the Ukrainian border.
And most Americans don’t realize it, but a war with China in the next few years has become a very real possibility…
“The only thing we know is that China is rapidly preparing for war,” said Gordon Chang, senior fellow at the Gatestone Institute and author of “The Great US-China Tech War,” in “Mornings with Maria ” Monday.
“Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said just 24 hours ago that this was all just overheated rhetoric, as he put it. But the fact is that China is prepare to kill Americans and we have to prepare to defend ourselves,” Chang continued. “And the Department of Defense is making slow, very slow, molasses-slow preparations to oppose China.”
So what if we end up fighting more than one major war simultaneously?
Does anyone out there actually believe that our military could actually handle this?
These are these perilous timesand our politicians continue to provoke both Russia and China.
But that’s not wise, because most wars are won or lost before they’re fought, and right now the US military is sadly unprepared for what’s to come.
